We are fighting McNeil & Poyer v. SAC 181, LLC not just for ourselves, but to expose the improperly used mechanical systems model that allow property owners and managers to see essential shelter as a spreadsheet and tenants as data points. Your support directly funds:

  • The Legal War Chest: Depositions, court reporters, expert witnesses, and the high costs of fighting three companies, five total defendants, two law firms and five attorneys - on our own - so we can prove it can be done, and pave the way for all tenants to better stand on their rights.
  • Rocket’s Recovery: Our campaign mascot, a rescue Carolina Dog, was trapped under heavy furniture during the chaos of our forced move from an environment designed for his blindness. He is currently losing weight due to dental pain and requires urgent surgery we could have afforded if not for the financial devastation of this renoviction.
  • Rebuilding the Platform: The defendants' actions silenced the Thought Leadership Studio podcast and Strategic Thought Leadership platform it promoted. We are rebuilding them utilizing the Housing Justice Audit concept, leveraging this case's newsworthiness for the greater good by leading to a "Conscious Stewardship" model for rental property ownership and management that is both more profitable and more compassionate than the tenant exploitation resulting from the "extraction" model that is so prevalent.
